The future of CET - 25 March 2010

Following a successful 2007-09 CET cycle, we are now looking at how the CET scheme can be improved overall, and how it will form part of revalidation from 2013.

The CET event will look at issues such as:

  • Whether more CET should have to take place face-to-face rather than by distance learning;
  • Whether registrants should have to get minimum numbers of CET points in particular subject areas; and
  • How CET will be linked to revalidation.

The CET event takes place from 11:00 – 15:00 at Park Crescent Conference Centre, 229 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PN. It is free to attend but space is limited, so delegates must register their interest in advance with the GOC. A buffet lunch will be provided, and the event will be independently facilitated.

You can book a place online or by contacting Simon Grier on 020 7307 3478. Alternatively, email sgrier@optical.org.

We will use the feedback from the event and the survey to make sure CET remains practical, effective and valuable for all practitioners.
