GOC erases Manchester based student optometrist from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Badran Rehman, a student optometrist based in Manchester, from its register.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to undertake training impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to submitting fraudulent documents and impersonating others in written communications with his University, as part of an academic appeal.

Mr Rehman has until 11 May 2023 to appeal against his erasure.
