GOC erases Worthing based dispensing optician from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Daniel Holden, a dispensing optician based in Worthing, from its register.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to fraudulently keeping over £1000 from till takings, and stealing money during the cash reconciliation process and falsely declaring shortfalls to conceal his conduct, during his employment at Specsavers Stowmarket LTD.

Mr Holden has until 8 May 2023 to appeal against his erasure.
