GOC suspends St. Albans based dispensing optician

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend John Snelgrove, a dispensing optician based in St. Albans, from its register for six months.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to using a patient’s personal information to try and pursue a sexual relationship.

Mr Snelgrove has until 12 August 2022 to appeal his suspension.
