GOC suspends West Midlands based optometrist

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Mohammed Nawaz, an optometrist based in the West Midlands, from its register for four months.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to dishonest record keeping and failure to maintain adequate records.

Mr Nawaz has until 29 August 2022 to appeal his suspension.
