GOC suspends Whitland based optometrist from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Keith Coakham, an optometrist based in Whitland in Wales, from its register for 12 months. 

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found the registrant’s fitness to practise to be impaired by reason of misconduct, arising from his multiple failures to engage with GOC enquiries relating to his fitness to practise. 

Mr Coakham has until 20 April 2023 to appeal against his suspension.
