Optical regulator announces move to new office space in Canary Wharf
The General Optical Council, the regulator of optical professionals in the UK, has announced that it is relocating to new premises at One Canada Square in Canary Wharf, East London in May.
The new office is a smaller, more cost-effective space, and will support the GOC’s agile, hybrid working style.
The space, on the 29th floor, has a high-spec hearings room to facilitate both in person and remote fitness to practise hearings and offers excellent transport connections. It locates the GOC in a similar geographical area to other regulators and not-for-profit organisations.
Chief Executive and Registrar Leonie Milliner said: “I am delighted to announce the GOC’s move to One Canada Square. Our new office will offer an improved, fully accessible working environment for our staff and members. The cost savings achieved by relocating to a smaller and more cost-effective office will help us better deliver value for money and support the effective realisation of our new 2025-30 corporate strategy.
The move will come just as we launch the new strategy and will support us to deliver our mission of protecting the public by upholding high standards in eye care services and our new strategic priorities.”
