GOC announces registrant fees for 2023/24

For the 2023/24 registration period, there will be a below-inflation increase in the main registration fee for optometrists, dispensing opticians, and body corporates of 5.56%, to £380.

Fees for students will remain the same and the discount for low-income fees will increase by £20, from £100 to £120 meaning that the low-income fee will remain at £260.

For the last three years, registrant fees have remained frozen at £360. The changes to fees were agreed by Council at its 7 December meeting.

This increase in fees will ensure the GOC can continue to fulfil its statutory remit and protect the public by upholding high standards in the optical professions, while sensibly managing risks in a climate of increasingly financial and economic volatility.
