GOC erases Falkirk based dispensing optician from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase David McIntosh, a dispensing optician based in Falkirk, from its register.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to obtaining funds from his employer by conducting unauthorised and/or false refund transactions. The Committee found Mr McIntosh’s actions to be inappropriate and dishonest.
Mr McIntosh has until 2 October 2024 to appeal against his erasure.
