GOC erases Nuneaton based dispensing optician from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Jitesh Gadher, a dispensing optician based in Nuneaton, England, from its register.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to stealing from his workplace by taking cash payments from patients on multiple occasions and falsely claiming he worked as an Investigating Officer and/or Fitness to Practise Committee member for the GOC.

Mr Gadher has until 20 July 2023 to appeal against his erasure, during which time he is suspended from the register under an immediate suspension order.
