GOC suspends Stanmore based optometrist from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Bhavik Gandhi, an optometrist based in Stanmore, from its register for ten months.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to making 14 separate false claims for bonus figures, totalling £2,811.33, to which he knew he was not entitled, when working as an optometrist between March 2021 and April 2022.

Mr Gandhi has until 24 October 2023 to appeal against his suspension.
