New business plan for 2021-22
We have published our business plan for 2021-22, which sets out the milestones, outputs and outcomes that we plan to deliver in order to achieve our vision of being recognised for delivering world-class regulation and excellent customer service.
The business plan coincides with our 'Fit for the Future' strategic plan for 2020-25 which outlines our three main strategic objectives:
- Delivering world-class regulatory practice
- Transforming customer service
- Building a culture of continuous improvement
As we look forward to this year, we will begin the implementation of our new education and training requirements for optometrists and dispensing opticians, and are coming to the end of the final year of the final Continuing Education and Training (CET) cycle before implementing a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme from 2022.
We will continue our work to reduce the number of fitness to practise cases, which we expect will subsequently improve the timeliness of our processes. Following the success of our first FtP FOCUS learning bulletin published last year, we will be publishing more bulletins throughout the year.
We also look forward to launching a new Communications and Engagement strategy underpinned by a new and refreshed GOC website, which will be easier and quick for registrants and the public to use.
