New issue of FtP FOCUS on Case Examiners

Today we’ve launched the third edition of FtP FOCUS, our learning bulletin for registrants on the fitness to practise process.

This edition focuses on our Case Examiners, whose job it is to consider whether the case should be closed or referred to the Fitness to Practise Committee (FtPC). We’ve included interviews with Keith Watts, Head of Casework Operations, and two of our Case Examiners to help you better understand their role.

In addition, we’ve included four case studies to provide more insight into the types of concerns Case Examiners consider when deciding whether a case should be closed or referred to the Fitness to Practise Committee, as well as relevant Standards of Practice.

You can download this latest edition, as well as previous editions on the triage and investigation stages, from our website.

The next edition will focus on the Fitness to Practise Committee, the fourth stage of the case progression process, and will be published in the autumn.
