University of Huddersfield optometry programme receives full approval
Following a recent quality assurance visit in March 2022, the University of Huddersfield’s (UoH) BSc (Hons) Optometry programme has been fully approved by the GOC.
The UoH’s optometry programme has been quality assured prior to the first cohort of students joining the programme as set out in our Accreditation and Quality Assurance Handbook: Routes to Registration in Optometry (2015) and Temporary Accreditation and Quality Assurance Handbook: Routes to GOC Registration for Optometrists (2020).
Successful students are able to progress onto the Scheme for Registration delivered by the College of Optometrists.
Under the Opticians Act, the GOC has the power to approve qualifications and education institutions offering optical training.
The latest visit report is available on the University of Huddersfield page on our website. See UoH’s news article for more information.
