GOC suspends Maidstone based student optometrist from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Kwan Lok Ho, a student optometrist based in Maidstone, from its register for 12 months.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to train impaired by reason of misconduct. This related to creating fictitious patient records for submission to the College of Optometrists as part of a pre-registration training assessment, and falsely claiming that he had carried out eye examinations on these patients under his supervisor's supervision. The Committee found these actions to be dishonest.

Kwan Lok Ho has until 25 March 2026 to appeal against his suspension.
