GOC erases Plymouth based dispensing optician from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Samantha Wall, a dispensing optician based in Plymouth, from its register.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found her fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to knowingly taking money, which she was not entitled to, from her workplace and/or submitting duplicate petty cash and expense claims. The Committee found these actions to be dishonest.
Ms Wall has until 25 February 2026 to appeal against her erasure.
