Shailesh Varsani has joined the GOC’s Investigation Committee as a registrant member.
He currently works as Professional Services Manager for Asda Opticians, where he manages locum and resident optometrist concerns about performance and investigates complaints.
Shailesh has experience working within a regulatory framework to manage performance concerns, working as an Optometric Adviser for NHS England – London Region. He also still works as a Clinical Lead Optometrist in primary care.
He graduated from Aston University in 2000. Outside of optometry, Shailesh is passionate about triathlons, having completed over 13 races.
The joint whistleblowing disclosures report sets out how the healthcare professional regulators handle disclosures, highlight the action taken about these issues, and aims to improve collaboration across the health sector.
