GOC suspends optometrist based in Ilford from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Lokesh Prabhakar, an optometrist based in Ilford, England, from its register for nine months.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to failing to carry out adequate eye examinations and failing to maintain adequate records which was misleading and dishonest.
Mr Prabhakar has until 10 January 2025 to appeal against his suspension.
